Wildflower Day - June 6, 2026

 

Celebrating Waterton’s world-renowned botanical diversity. Features guided walks, wildflower trail ride on horseback, child focus activities and wildflower themed yoga sessions. 

This is a small beginning step to bring back the Wildflower Festival. 

Canada Day - July 1, 2026

 

Our flagship summer celebration! Join us this year to host a special FIFA World Cup 2026 themed Canada Day celebration. Activities planned will focus on a friendly community soccer round robin tournament. Teams can register (family, coworkers) or individuals can join the day of and will be put on a team. In between matches, a skills competition will be arranged to see who has the fastest kick. 

(RCMP to use radar gun), and a range of other challenges, obstacle course, target shooting…   

To kick off the activities a “Red & White” fan gathering will take place on the community center lawn. Prizes will be given out for best dressed and winning teams

Niitsitapi Arts & Heritage Festival- August 11 & 12, 2026

 

This event is in collaboration with Parks Canada. The first day of the festival will showcase an interactive art exhibit in the gym, a marketplace in the north classroom and a workshop in the south classroom. An educational component is being discussed. Indian Tacos are available for purchase all day. We’ll invite the community to gather for a barbeque and to watch a show case a film like “Her Hands, Our Hands” either in Lions Hall or the community center. 

Day two, the main event will feature the outside Powwow. 

Beargrass Day - August 29, 2026

 

This event is in collaboration with Parks Canada.
